What is a CMS ?

The acronym CMS stands for "Content Management System".

A CMS is used to manage content, ie the information you publish on your website or intranet.

There are many CMS on the market.

They mostly share the following features:

  • Full Separation between content management and the display of the site :
You can change the design of the site without having to make  changes within the content.

  • Content structuring:
For example : Pages, news, blocks, etc.

  • Assigning roles to users:
For example: Visitor, administrator, author, member, etc.

  • Ability to work in common on the site.

  • Creating and modifying the site through a Web interface.
